Pico - Hydro Projects
In the northern part of Thailand, villages are in mountainous forest areas, most of which has not been electrified. Via the 1st phase of GEM, three community-based hydro projects have been developed, which not only alleviate quality of life but also encourage forest preservation, which is formerly not aware by the local people; as a result, the large areas of tropical rain forest has been destroyed.

Training on Solar Cell System Maintenance and Repair under Solar Home Project
The project comprises technician training on the PV system operation and maintenance for local people and local government, by providing tool box for maintenance as well as establishing network within the community in order to support each other and set up the plan In managing and recycling expired battery

Minor repair from manufacturing defect, i.e. missing connector, and broken lighting bulb is made. Installation errors, i.e. installing PV in shady areas, are corrected to achieve the maximum capture of solar energy. Also, the villagers are supported in claiming the warranty

For those whose warranty expires, the project provides technical assistance in refurbishing the solar home systems or replacing the broken components and implementation training guideline.
